Salt Lake Gulls
The Salt Lake Gulls were a Triple-A minor league team that played in Salt Lake City from 1975 to 1984, known for their bold colors, classic uniforms, and connection to the California Angels. As a designer with a love for both baseball and local history, I wanted to bring that era back to life in a way that felt both nostalgic and fresh.
For this project, I developed a full visual package inspired by the Gulls’ legacy. I designed a retro-style jersey, a vintage poster, a display advertisement, and a series of social media graphics that blended 70s aesthetics with modern design sensibilities. Every element was crafted to feel authentic to the time period while remaining visually engaging for a contemporary audience.
DEFENDERS OF THE DIAMOND
For the Defenders Of The Diamond Night, I contributed to a unique collaboration between Minor League Baseball and Marvel Studios. This initiative saw each participating team receive a custom logo developed by Marvel, alongside a comprehensive Defenders of the Diamond branding package for event promotion.
My work for these themed nights included designing the custom jersey, posters, social media graphics, display advertisements, and billboards. The project successfully merged the dynamic worlds of professional baseball and iconic superheroes.
Salt Lake Trappers
The Salt Lake Trappers were a legendary part of Utah’s baseball history—a Pioneer League team best known for their unbelievable 29-game winning streak in 1987, a record that still stands today. As part of celebrating the 30th anniversary of Smith’s Ballpark, I had the opportunity to revive the spirit of the Trappers with a full set of commemorative designs.
I created a vintage-inspired jersey, a retro-style poster, display ads, social media graphics, and a custom pennant flag designed for fans to take home a piece of baseball history. The goal was to honor the Trappers’ underdog legacy while giving the visuals a fresh, modern edge that still felt true to the late-80s era.
Abejas De Salt Lake
Abejas de Salt Lake is part of Minor League Baseball’s “Copa de la Diversión” initiative—an effort to celebrate Latino communities through culturally-relevant gameday experiences. The Abejas identity brought bold energy, color, and pride to the ballpark as a tribute to the vibrant spirit of Latin American culture.
To help bring this celebration to life, I designed a vibrant promotional campaign that included a custom jersey inspired by Latin American design, a commemorative poster, social media graphics, display ads, and the look and feel for the season. Every piece was crafted to reflect the joy, passion, and community at the heart of Copa de la Diversión and Latino culture.
